Meet Hannah

Hannah is a passionate healer, performer, yogi, bodyworker and educator who weaves art and healing into all of her work with both individuals and groups.

Hannah’s lifelong roots are here in the Hudson Valley, but she has stretched her reach globally in her time as a yoga teacher and theater educator for the past 28 years.

Hannah was a tenured university professor in a dance and theatre department until 2018 when she decided to quit her full time job and dedicate her time to healing arts work, both as a yoga teacher and international theatre trainer and performer. Along her almost 30 year path as a yoga teacher she encountered Positional Therapy, which she has been studying at Kripalu for the past 6 years. She will be a certified IPT practitioner by December 2024.

Developed by Lee Albert, LMT and yogi, Integrated Positional Therapy (IPT) is a highly effective muscle balancing technique that addresses, and often eliminates, chronic pain in the body. IPT does this through gentle muscle balancing, through stretching, strengthening, and slackening muscles it aims to address the root cause and not just the symptoms.

Among IPT’s many benefits, what Hannah loves how her clients can receive gentle and caring touch and massage without the vulnerability of disrobing. Human touch is essential to the vitality of the human spirit, and through IPT, Hannah creates an environment for people to release stress and tension in their muscles and joints.

IPT is a combination of massage, partner yoga, and physical therapy. As a yogi, over the years Hannah has studied with Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, David Swenson, Ana Forest and Todd Norian to name a few of her teachers.

When she is not offering IPT, you can find her teaching postional therapy inspired yoga in the Hudson Valley at the Living Seed (New Paltz), Stone Wave Yoga (Gardiner), and Whole Sky Yoga (Stone Ridge).

Hannah is also an international theatre trainer, specializing in Playback Theatre and a dedicated mom of a spirited son named, Rio.

When she is not traveling abroad or in the studio teaching a yoga class, you can find her here at SHC helping to eliminate chronic pain with Positional Therapy!
